Blackpool hotels all tend to be located along the seafront and close to the ‘wall of entertainment’ on their doorsteps. The best thing to do when choosing a hotel in Blackpool is to decide which of the many attractions you want to be near, as well as what entertainments are on offer in that particular hotel. Most are by the sea, so the only other considerations are value for money and the quality of services on offer in the hotels themselves.
We’ve selected five Blackpool hotels that we think offer something for everybody.
1. Best Western Carlton Hotel Blackpool
This is a lovely three star hotel close to the Blackpool North Shore, and provides excellent value for money. Its location is excellent for the Promenade, the Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Tower, as well as the nearby golf course and the famous Winter Gardens. It is renowned for its friendly staff and includes satellite TV and high-speed broadband. There are a number of public transport options on the doorstep, and the hotel offers free parking. Best of all, the hotel features wonderful panoramic views over 12 miles of sandy beaches. It is also worth noting that the hotel has two restaurants, and the Indian Jali Fine Dining restaurant is particularly recommended for curry lovers.
2. Hilton Hotel Blackpool
The Hilton is a Blackpool hotel for those who want to be able to visit the town centre, but also have a bit of pampering and luxury whilst on holiday. Of all the hotels in Blackpool, the Hilton is one of the best equipped, and offers everything you would expect from a four star hotel. The bustle and noise of the Pleasure Beach is a couple of miles away (trams depart from outside the hotel) yet the hotel is well located for Blackpool Tower, the Grand Theatre and the Grundy Art Gallery. More importantly the hotel sits right on the sea and offers wonderful views. The amenities are exceptional with heated indoor pool and full service spa offering massages and manicures. Rooms come with satellite TV, internet and Playstation. For those looking for a little bit of extra luxury from their Blackpool hotels, this is the one.
3. Grand Metropole Hotel Blackpool
For those people wanting to be right in the thick of the action, Grand Metropole offers the perfect Blackpool hotel. A good value three star hotel it features perhaps the best location, sitting directly between the sea and the Promenade. It is very close to the North Pier and Blackpool Tower and is the perfect hotel for the true Blackpool experience. It is also ideally located to get to other attractions such as Blackpool Zoo and Pleasure Beach, with a tram stopping directly outside the hotel. The rooms offer all mod-cons, and because of its location most rooms in the hotel have wonderful uninterrupted views across the Irish Sea. Though there are hundreds of restaurants and bars nearby, the hotel has its own well-regarded restaurant, and there is a nightly cabaret act and live entertainment. This is truly a hotel for those wanting the full Blackpool treatment.
4. Bedford Hotel Blackpool
The Bedford Hotel is another well-located three star hotel that has visitors returning year after year. Set right on the North Shore and with the North Pier, the Tower and the Winter Gardens close by, this hotel is an excellent and reasonably priced choice. With facilities including an indoor heated pool, a turbo spa and a sauna, as well as a bar and restaurant with a reputation amongst locals for reliably good food and service, this is a hotel that garners consistently good reviews from its guests.
5. Gainsborough Hotel Blackpool
The Gainsborough is one of our favourite hotels in Blackpool. Offering excellent value for a three star hotel, and one of the finest locations in Blackpool (between the Central and South Piers on Queens Promenade), you will struggle to find a bad word said about this hotel. Sitting directly on the Promenade and very close to the famous Blackpool Tower, the Winter Gardens and the Grand Theatre, as well as offering easy access to bus, train and tram lines, this is a hotel that gets the best of the town centre whilst somehow managing to avoid the noise. Indeed for those important moments of peace and quiet it features an elevated patio to sit out and watch the Irish Sea and (hopefully) take in some sun. Most rooms offer views of either sea or Promenade, so ask, when booking, for the view you prefer. It has a reputation for excellent service and the food is always delicious. Throw in free parking and a delightful couple who own the place, and we think this is one of the best little hotels in Blackpool.
